ADE Opening Exhibition: ClubCult

ClubCult presents an immersive exhibition during Amsterdam Dance Event 2025, celebrating the spirit of Amsterdam’s underground nightlife.

In January 2024, during the closing weekend of the legendary club De School, four photographers and two filmmakers portrayed more than 200 clubgoers in these final three days. This rare collection offers an intimate glimpse into a community usually hidden by the club’s strict no picture policy.

At ADE, these portraits are brought to life at the warehouse Door Open Space. Large-scale projections showcase photography and slow-motion video, amplifying the gestures and energy of the club culture. A specially curated DJ set, in dialogue with the visuals, channels both the raw and poetic essence of club culture.

ClubCult is an ode to this scene, where people come together to celebrate music, freedom, self-expression, love, and identity. Alongside this exhibition, a photography book captures these portraits in print. The project presents a unique mix of photography, art, fashion, and videography, transforming nightlife into an artwork.

ClubCult is an Amsterdam-based collective of photographers, filmmakers, visual artists, and fashion creatives.

Tickets to this event include access to the opening of the 'A Scan Through Dutch Rave Culture' exhibition at Door Open Space.
