ADE Opening Performance: The Grid: Embodied - Victor Dissel, Bram van Ravenhorst & Arno Schuitemaker

“The Grid: Embodied unleashes the power of movement, transforming the rigid grid of our world into a fluid space — a symbiosis in which you don’t get lost but find your own way.”

On Wednesday October 22, Amsterdam Dance Event kicks off with a one-of-a-kind premiere, The Grid: Embodied. In this immersive opening performance, light, sound, and dance come together in a new installation by Victor Dissel and Bram van Ravenhorst (aka Blind '92), brought to life with a special choreography by Arno Schuitemaker.

The Grid: Embodied immerses you in a unique perspective on the ‘club experience’ for 2025 — a performance that balances music, installation art, and choreography, positioned in the grey area of ADE’s dynamic programme. In the industrial space of Door Open Space, a twenty-minute dialogue between humans and machines unfolds, in which sixteen moving light columns and Schuitemaker’s dancers create a hypnotic interplay. The Grid: Embodied unleashes the power of movement, transforming the rigid grid of our world into a fluid space — a symbiosis in which you don't get lost but find your own way.

After the opening night, The Grid will remain on view until Saturday, 25 October, as a standalone installation running in parallel with the ongoing exhibitions.

Tickets to this performance will include access to the openings of 'ClubCult' and 'A Scan Through Dutch Rave Culture' exhibitions at Door Open Space at 20:30.
