ADE | Workshop w/ Linalab: Synthesizing Sounds by Transiting the Latent Spac

Step into the hidden dimensions of sound with "Transiting the Latent Space" – a 2.5-hour workshop where you'll use RAVE (Realtime Audio Variational autoEncoder) to synthesize new sounds. Developed at IRCAM, this open-source tool encodes your audio into a latent space of manipulable variables, then decodes them back into reconstructed sound.

Think of latent space as a secret map of sound – by navigating these dimensions, you can go beyond simple timbre-transfer (like cloning celebrity voices) to discover entirely new sonic possibilities. This hands-on exploration champions open-source, ethical approaches to AI in music, treating AI as a collaborative creative partner.
